Wilson – William Chad Overby, age 53, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Wilson Medical Center. Born on May 12, 1972, Chad was the son of the late Jim “Pete” Hughes and Barbara Adams Overby. He was also preceded in death by an extended family member, Wade Troutman.

   Chad was a devoted father, loving Papa, cherished brother, and treasured uncle. He attended Remnant Worship Center in Smithfield with his fiancée, Ginnie Eubanks. A man of deep kindness and a big heart, Chad loved his family fiercely and lived his life with sincerity and warmth.

  He found joy in the outdoors and loved spending time at the beach. He also loved feeding and watching the birds. A passionate NASCAR and hockey fan, Chad especially looked forward to Halloween each year, delighting in the joy and excitement it brought to children.

  Chad is survived by his daughter, Jessica Overby (Adam Hall) of Smithfield; fiancée, Ginnie Eubanks of Wilson; brother, Donnie Overby (Delores) of Wilmington; sister, Sonya Walsh (Robert) of Hampstead; the mother of his daughter, Pamela Bradley; grandsons, Chandler Moore and Asher Hall; extended family member, Lucille Troutman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved fur-baby, Ginger. Chad will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at Remnant Worship Center, 2455 NC-96, Selma, NC 27576, on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. Family and friends are invited to come and visit at the home, 3314 Brook Lane, Wilson, 27896.
