William Earl Durham

William Durham lovingly known as Billy was born on January 2nd, 1958 in Wilson County and lived in Kenly, NC. He passed away peacefully on August 31st 2025 at UNC Health Johnston at the age of 67-years-old.

Billy was a proud retired truck driver with a big heart and a love for life’s simple joys. He spent much of his life on the open road, working hard and taking pride in a career that carried him across countless miles and memories. After retiring, he enjoyed slowing down, spending more time with family, and savoring the things he loved most.

He had an incredible knowledge of songs, bands, and artists across generations, and could tell you not just who sang it, but when it was recorded and the stories behind it. Elvis Presley was a lifelong favorite, but his love of music stretched wide, and he took joy in sharing that knowledge with anyone who would listen. He loved the beach, and found joy in watching old movies that reminded him of days gone by.

He is survived by his sister Belinda Wall (Brian Wall), nieces Heather Bridgers, Breanne Wall, and Madison Wall, and nephews Eddie, William and Michael Bridgers.

He was preceded in death by mother (Mary Grice Coleman), Father (Robert Durham), Sister (Patricia Durham), Grandparents Johnny and Nina Grice, Jake and Irene Durham.

Per Billy’s wishes there will be a private memorial service at a later date.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at UNC Health Johnston for the compassionate care and kindness they provided during Billy’s final days.
