William “Steve” Steven Bowen

    William Steven Bowen, age 57, of Coats, NC passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2024.

    Steve was born in Windsor, NC on September 17, 1966, to Howard Wheeler Bowen and Jane Earp Bowen. He grew up with two older sisters, Donna Bowen (1955- 2001) and Debbie Jean Bowen Cochran (1957-2022).

    At an early age, Steve was very musically inclined and of course he chose to focus on percussion. He played in several bands and on various projects. He drummed with Mark Buchanan. He played in church for several years. He also collaborated with Rob Logic on several Logical Sound Discovery CD compilations and live performances. He was the percussionist for Baltic Avenue along with Jeff Coppedge and Gintas Abarius who we sadly lost August 11, 2010. Steve later played drums for Milagro Saints with Stephen Ineson, Lee Kirby, Jick Wins-Low, Stephen Samosky, and Berto Morales.

    As an entrepreneur, Steve was highly respected. He was a reliable, knowledgeable, multi-skilled, multi-talented contractor and licensed electrician. He was truly a man of integrity always in search of the truth and had a passion for learning. He enjoyed having conversations with people and thereby influenced and inspired many.

    Steve will be greatly missed by his wife, Anita (Nia) and his four children: Micah (23), Noah (20), Lauren (17), and Leah(13); his mother, Jane Bowen; his niece, Selene Cochran and fiance, David Stephens; Steve’s in-laws, Johnny and Almeta Allen; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law – John and Christine Allen and their children, Reagan (20) and Jonathan (17); his many friends, and those he worked with.

    He deeply loved his wife, children, family, and friends.

    The family will receive and fellowship with friends and family to celebrate Steve’s life on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, anytime from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cross Assembly Church, 2660 Yonkers Road, Raleigh, NC 27604
