William “W.O.” Oscar Warren, Jr.

William Oscar Warren, Jr., 100, of Myrtle Beach, formerly of Erwin, passed away on December 1, 2025 at The Palmettos Assisted Living in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.
He was born in Harnett County on August 1, 1925 to the late William Oscar Warren, Sr. and Bertha Ellen Norris Warren. W.O. spent much of his youth farming in Harnett and Sampson County along with bowling and playing softball.
W.O. served in the United States Air Force for over 3 years before founding Warren Brothers Oil Company and several service stations with his brothers.
He was an avid golfer, and he was a founding member of Chicora Country Club. He was also active in the Lion’s Club and Moose Lodge. For several years, he served as a board member of Central Carolina Bank.
He was extremely proud to serve on the board of the Erwin Fire Department for 50 years before moving to the Myrtle Beach, SC area.
One achievement he frequently mentioned was having the privilege to travel to all 50 states and multiple national parks.
He enjoyed visiting all the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers Clyde Edwin Warren (spouse Peggy Hawley Warren) and John Walter Warren (spouse Frankie Messer Warren)
He is survived and loved by his wife of 72 years, Virginia Smith Warren and three daughters, Pandora Warren King (spouse Roy King), Celeste Warren Rainey (spouse Dwain Rainey) and Teresa Warren Mayberry (spouse Paul Mayberry); grandchildren, Mary King Rumsey, Audrey Rainey, Megan Rainey Ables, Mark King, Warren Mayberry, Reid Mayberry and Davis Mayberry; great grandchildren: Lilla Rumsey, Eloise and Abel King, Jack, Max and Millie Ables, Landon, Cooper, Peyton, and Palmer Mayberry
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Grove O.F.W.B. Church in Dunn.

He will be greatly missed.
