Benson, NC: Mr. Allmon Leonard McLamb, age 75, died Thursday at his fiancée’s residence in Clayton. Funeral Service will be 5:00 PM Monday at New Life Pentecostal Church in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Lucas. Graveside service will be Tuesday at 10:00AM at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Mr. McLamb was born December 6, 1941 in Johnston County to the late Allmond and Varah Turnage McLamb. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald McLamb, Gardner McLamb, Redding McLamb and Stacy McLamb and sisters, Irene Warren, Eva Hudson and Leta Lee. Mr. McLamb was a retired Correctional Officer with Central Prison and also a member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Benson.
Surviving are his daughters and sons-in law, Andrea M. and Charles Lee of Garner and Cindy M. and Shane Blackmon of Benson; fiancée, Betty Hamilton of Clayton; grandchildren, Mia Lee and Lexi Lee; sisters, Elma Carmichael of Indiana, Ilee Lucas of Benson and Ruth Benson of Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday immediately following the service and other times at the home of Betty Hamilton, 470 Pinecroft Drive, Clayton, NC 27520.
