Selma – Anna “Jean” Creech Mitchell, age 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, in UNC Healthcare in Smithfield.
She was born on June 2, 1950, a daughter of the late Herbert and Clarkie Creech in Wayne County. She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Brenda Jean Mitchell, brothers, Thurman Creech, and Kenneth Creech.
Jean was known for her love of cooking and love for all of her family. She was a devoted wife for 54 years to the love of her life, they never spent a night apart. She was a loving mother to her children, loving mema to her grandchildren, and a child of God. She was a member of Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial to follow in Micro Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 4, 2020, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Mr. Paul Junior Mitchell, son, Wesley Mitchell (wife Anita) of Selma, daughters, Wanda Mitchell of Selma, and Emma Hare (husband Jason) of Kenly, sisters, Josephine Braswell (husband Norman) of Princeton, and Edna Jones of Pine Level, grandchildren, Hannah Glover (husband Travis), Hayley Barbour, Brandon Barbour, Garrett Mitchell, Tyler Mitchell, Luke Mitchell, Jordan Lamm (wife Meredith) and Jacob Lamm.
