Smithfield- Anselmo Maximo Hernandez, age 64, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at UNC Johnston Hospital. He was born a son of the late Jose Antonio and Francisca Hernandez on April 21, 1955 in Hidalgo, Mexico. Anselmo was a minister at First Baptist Church for many years. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Felix and Antonio Martinez.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Smithfield on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive visitors two hours prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. The burial will take place following the service at Sunset Memorial Park.
Anselmo is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Eluid Trejo Hernandez; son, Elmer Hernandez and wife Edith of Smithfield, daughter, Eluith Hernandez of Smithfield; brothers, Jose Martinez and wife Acosta, Manuel Martinez and wife Margarita, sister Berta Martinez and husband Felipe; grandchildren, Jacy Hernandez and Jocelyn Hernandez, Hannah Hernandez, Ian Yonel Maradiaga and Gian Franko Maradiaga.
