Garner, NC: Mrs. Barbara McLamb Pope, age 77, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Pastor Scooter Murphy will officiate. Burial will follow in Stones Creek Advent Christian Church Cemetery outside Benson, NC.
Mrs. Pope was born on April 3, 1944 in Johnston County to the late Lethel T. and Geneva Smith McLamb. She retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company as a Regional Manager. Following retirement, she worked in the Food Lion Deli and enjoyed spending time with her customers and co-workers. Mama was known for her love of gardening, cooking, fishing and most of all, her children and grandchildren.
Surviving include her children, Clark Pope and wife, Denise; Cathy Pope Willick, Lisa Pope Thomas and husband, Ken, Jr.; and Jackie Pope Strickland and husband, Phillip; grandchildren, Daniel King, Amber Pope, Dustin Thomas, Hannah Strickland, Jacob Strickland, Savannah Willick, Kenneth Thomas and Nicholas Thomas; sisters, Glenda Massengill and Janice Lee; brother, Lee McLamb; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM, Monday, June 14, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home.
