Selma – Bernie Randolph Barnes, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Wake Med Hospital. Born on March 4, 1943, he was the second son of the late Lloyd Rudolph and Clara Starling Barnes of Selma, NC. He was a 1962 graduate of Selma High School and a member of Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield, NC.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Smith and Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday just prior to the service.
Surviving are his three children, Vicky Barnes Stallings and husband Steve of Selma, Cameron (Donna) Barnes Carroll of Wake Forest, and Denton Keith Barnes and wife Susan of Pikeville; one granddaughter, Ashten Brooke Richardson of Raleigh; one great great granddaughter, Natalie Grace Forbes of Raleigh; one brother, Jerry Kent Barnes of Selma; and two nephews. Bernie is preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Rudolph Barnes and Joe Randy (Butch) Barnes.
