Bessie Mae Westbrook Gilmore, age 93, of Micro passed away at her home on July 29, 2017. Born in Johnston County on December 9, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Erastus and Callie Mae Hall Westbrook. She was also preceded in death by her husband Roscoe Gilmore, a daughter Callie Mae Gilmore and all of her siblings.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with burial following in Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
Surviving are her children, Timothy R. Gilmore and wife Geri of Zebulon, Linda G. Robinson of Bolton, Rubin R. Gilmore and wife Jo Ann of Selma, Regina G. Wilson and husband Steve of Micro; grandchildren, Michael Gilmore and wife Connie, Annette G. Freeman and husband David, Russell Gilmore, Salina W. Williams and husband Mike, Scott Gilmore and wife Vanessa, Margaret Skinner and husband Brian, Steven Wilson and wife Alison; step-grandchildren, Susan Strickland, Connie Mercer and David Riley;
Great grandchildren, Kristin G. Kelemen and husband Paul, Heather N. Freeman, Ashley M. Sanderson, Steven Williams, Christopher Gilmore, Haley Gilmore, Dalton Williams, Michelle Gilmore, Gavin Wilson, Joshua Skinner; Kaylee Skinner, Payton Wilson, Elise Gilmore and Lydia Gilmore; and three great great grandchildren, Paityn Kelemen, Christopher Matthews and Jenna Alexander.
