Spring Hope – Betty Dupree Massengill, age 82, died Sunday, July 30, 2017 in Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount. Born September 16, 1934 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Carly and Eula Whitley Dupree. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Massengill; sister, Kathleen Dupree Jones; great grandson, Chase Hinnant.
Surviving are her son, Billy Vaughn and wife Teresa of Morehead City; daughter, Catherine Eakes and fiancé Dell Wilder of Castalia; brother, Harvey Dupree of Kenly; grandchildren, Wanda Hinnant and husband Clint, Sara Vaughn Shearin and husband Coye, and Kenny Vaughn and wife Crystal; and great grandchildren, Russel Hinnant, Julia Hinnant, Jessie Hinnant, and Marcus Vaughn.
