Micro – Betty Penny Shepherd, age 66, passed away Monday August 12, 2019. Mrs. Betty was born in Johnston County May 30, 1953 to the late Joe and Irene Wester Penny.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday August 17, 2019 at 11 AM at Fellowship Church in Selma, 3750 US 301, with pastor Jamie Coats officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Interment will occur at a later date.
Mrs. Betty is survived by husband of 24 years, Richard Shepherd; Son, Lynn Godwin and companion Diane Narron of Selma; Daughter, Laura Grady and husband Lawrence of Selma; Sister, Joan Braswell and husband Herman of Goldsboro; Grandchildren, Stephanie Grady, Noah Grady, Jordan Grady, Baleigh Godwin, and Vander Godwin; Great grandchild, Carter Grady; Niece, Beth Parker of Clayton.
Mrs. Betty was a member at Fellowship Church in Selma and loved animals, reading, cross stitching, traveling to the mountains, driving, and music.
