Smithfield – Billy Corbett, age 83, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Smithfield Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Smithfield. Born July 10, 1934 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Arthur and Trencie Brown Corbett. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Bobby Corbett; and sisters, Hazel Batten and Pauline Creech. Billy was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church in Selma.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. James Murray and Rev. Jimmy Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Community Cemetery in Selma. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Wednesday just prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, Zelda Corbett of Smithfield; son, Tim Corbett and wife Gail of Selma; daughters, Sheila Corbett of Four Oaks and Melody Beal of Selma; stepsons, Donald Webb and wife Cathy of Four Oaks and Ricky Webb and wife Teresa of Four Oaks; brother, Tynce Corbett of Selma; sister, Mildred Creech of Selma; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
