Bonnie June Matthews passed away July 24, 2020, at her home in Lillington. She was born in Sanford on September 11, 1953, the eldest daughter of James and Jean Wicker of Colon. Bonnie graduated from Deep River High School and received her nursing degree from CCTI (now CCCC), then had a forty-five-year career as a nurse and pharmacy technician, mostly at Betsy Johnson Hospital. She was a faithful member of the Greater Vision Fellowship Church in Lillington. Bonnie was known for her kind and loving ways, easygoing disposition, and infectious sense of humor. She enjoyed good food, travel, and thrifting.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Fred, son Clint, brothers Jim and Russell (Nancy), sisters Janet Talbert (Richard) and Annette Rankin (Ben), nieces Mackenzie, Emma, Larkin, Savanna, and Agusta, nephew Hunter, and a large, loving extended family of relatives, friends, and co-workers. She will be missed.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Greater Vision Fellowship Church, 135 Dry Run Road, Lillington, NC 27546.
Flowers are welcomed, however, memorials may be made to Greater Vision Fellowship Church.
