Selma – Braxton Ray Lynch, age 81, passed away April 5, 2018 at his home in Selma. Born August 17, 1936 in Johnston County he was the son of the late Braxton and Elizabeth Moore Lynch. He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Carter Perdue. Ray retired from Bellsouth after 38 years of service. Ray was a member of Selma Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and church administrator. He was a lifetime member of the Pioneers and NC Baptist Men’s Relief Team.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Selma Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday night at Parrish Funeral Home.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years Gwen Lynch of the home; sons, Steve Lynch and wife Ginger of Asheville, Sam Lynch and wife Margaret of Cumming, GA and daughter, Lisa Kramp and husband Dave of Crawfordsville, IN. Also survived by brothers, Jimmy Lynch and wife Linda, and Larry Lynch and wife Glenda; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
