Smithfield – Brenda Kay Heard, age 75, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 in BellaRose Nursing and Rehab Center in Garner. Born July 23, 1943 in Murfreesboro, NC she was the daughter of the late Charles Aubrey and Elizabeth Dameron Chitty. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Heard.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in First Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Tuesday just prior to the service. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in Sunset Memorial Park.
Surviving are her son, Jason Heard and wife Susan of Clayton; daughters, Heather Heard Lee and husband Christopher of Smithfield and Heidi Harris and husband Bryan of Smithfield; brother, Charlie Chitty and wife Marie of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth Lee, Aubrey Anne Lee, McKenna James Harris, Jackson Braswell Harris, Cooper Charles Harris, Brennin Isaiah Harris, Jason Michael Heard, and Matthew Lang Heard; and canine companion, Q-tip and Luna.
