Lucama – Buddy Ollie Morris, age 92, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at his home. Born November 24, 1926 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Charlie Oscar and Lillian Kemp Morris. Buddy was preceded in death by his siblings, Thelma Poole, Vivian Hill, Ruby Lamm, Margaret Holland, and Odell Morris. He was a member of Edgerton United Methodist Church in Selma, American Legion Post 141, and the VFW Post 5955. Buddy was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in World War II.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Edgerton UMC with Rev. Clay Parker and Rev. Stanley Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Kirby Morris; daughter, Kate Spear of Lucama; stepson, Bill Bass and wife Michelle of Sims; and grandchildren, A.J. Spear and Vera Grace Bass.
