Pine Level – Carlee Pittman, age 91, died Wednesday night, November 15, 2017 in UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Born in Johnston County on January 7, 1926, he was a son of the late Walter and Mamie Woodard Pittman. Carlee was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 405 in Pine Level for over 60 years. He was a retired member of the Pine Level Fire Department, having served the department for 30 years. Carlee was a member of Tee’s Chapel FWB Church where he served as a deacon for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 in Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday just prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Joyce Creech Pittman; daughter, Brenda Holt of Godwin; son, Ray Pittman of Appleton, WI; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
