Charles Person Carter, age 83, of Selma passed away on October 29 at Johnston Medical Center. Born in February 24, 1935, he was the son of the late Melvin and Hazel Eason Carter. He was preceded in death earlier this year by his daughter, Lisa Michelle Carter. Mr. Carter served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 4, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with Rev. Roger Hill officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1-2 pm.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Greene Carter; and his sister, Ann King of Raleigh, Susie Wade and Robin Parrish, both of Zebulon.
