Brogden- Charles William Olive, age 87, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020. He was born in Johnston County on March 3, 1933, to the late Eli and Ila Johnson Olive. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by brothers, Clarence (Dick) Olive, Leon (Lebo) Olive, James (Bunk) Olive; Sisters, Thelma Overton, Mildred Daniel, Ina Citurs, Lena Lee.
Mr. Olive will be available to the public to pay respects on Wednesday September 9, 2020, from 8 AM to 5 PM at Parrish Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at Tee’s Chapel Church in Smithfield on Thursday September 10, 2020, at 11 AM.
Mr. Olive is survived by wife of 68 years, Shelby Balance Olive; Daughters, Pam Daughtry and husband Steve of Princeton, Susan Woodall and husband Cecil of Smithfield; Son, Ronnie Olive and wife Janet of Smithfield; Grandchildren, Stephen Daughtry of Durham, Joseph Daughtry and wife Amy of Princeton, Chuck Woodall, Will Olive and wife Hillary of Smithfield; Great grandchildren, Abby and Luke Daughtry, Winston Grey Olive, born 9/6/2020.
Mr. Olive was a long time member of Tee’s Chapel Church and served as a deacon for many years. He also was a charter member of Brogden Fire Department and enjoyed gardening, fishing and watching his grandsons play baseball. He worked at Carolina Motor Stores for a number of years before retiring and then working at Tar Heel Tooling. He was the happiest when he was working. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Tee’s Chapel Church 6439 Brogden Rd, Smithfield, NC 27577.
