Mr. Christopher Ryal “Chris” Johnson, Jr., age 79, of W. Main Street, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Benson United Methodist Church in Benson, NC. Pastor Billy Olsen will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.
Mr. Johnson was born on May 17, 1941 in Harnett County to the late Christopher Ryal “Rick” Johnson, Sr., and Vestal Stewart Johnson. He was a graduate of Benson High School, and received his master’s degrees from Georgia State University and Old Dominion University. Mr. Johnson retired with 30 years of service as a public educator. He was a member of Benson United Methodist Church in Benson, NC.
Surviving include his wife of 43 years, Judy Bryan Johnson; sister, Jean Johnson Creech and his niece, Mary Helen Creech; special dog, Lily.
A time of visitation will be held from 12:00PM-7:00PM on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. The family will not be present during this time.
Flowers are welcomed; however, the family suggests memorials to Benson United Methodist Church, PO Box 72 Benson, NC 27504.
In accordance with the current NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash and wear a face covering. A mask is required for all services.
