Princeton – Clara Woodard Parrish, age 93, died Thursday morning in the Helping Hands Family Care. Born June 6, 1927 in Johnston County to the late James Richard and Ellen Ricks Woodard, she was preceded in death by her husband Archie C. Parrish on December 28, 2008.
Clara was a lifelong member of the Princeton Baptist Church. While her children attended Princeton school, she worked in the lunchroom and later worked as the office manager for Max Creech Insurance Agency in Smithfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Princeton Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwayne Batten and the Rev. Christian Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Princeton Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the committal service in the cemetery.
Surviving are her; sons, Glenn Parrish and wife Deb of Dillon, SC and Gene Parrish and wife Debbie of Princeton; six grandchildren, Tabitha Garrison and husband Norm of Harrisburg, VA, Ernie Carter and wife Heather of Danville, VA, Jennifer Parrish of Asheboro, Amy Baumgartner and husband Jeff and Cindy Schmidt all of Princeton and David Parrish and wife Cara of Goldsboro and nine great grandchildren, Lee Carter, Andrew Carter, Catherine Carter, Dr. Malcolm Vaught, Reagan Baumgartner, Brett Baumgartner, Kate Baumgartner, Claire Schmidt and Ella Schmidt.
