Smithfield – David Franklin Cobb, Sr., age 73, died early Wednesday morning, March 22, 2017 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born April 7, 1943 in Johnston County he was a son of Alma Mclamb Cobb of Princeton and the late Franklin David Cobb. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Ezell; and a niece, Dana Dale. David was a long time member of Princeton Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Dwayne Batten and Rev. David Toulson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Friday just prior to the service. Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Brenda Parker Cobb of Smithfield; son, David Franklin Cobb, Jr. and wife Janet of Stantonsburg; daughters, Tonia Elmore and husband Donald of Memphis, IN and Lori McLamb and husband Jerome of Four Oaks; brother, James T. Cobb and wife Barbara of Raleigh; sisters, Lillian King and husband Buddy of Kenly and Edna Edwards and husband Harold of Princeton; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
