    David Harold “Butch” Parker, Sr., 80, of Four Oaks passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, November 18 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks. Burial will follow in Four Oaks City Cemetery. Revs. Lewis Godwin and Duane Casey will officiate.

    Mr. Parker was born on September 4, 1937 on a dairy farm in Johnston County to the late Ralph and Pearl Stephenson Parker. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cleo Parker Austin and brother, Sherwood Parker. He was married to the love of his life, Sylvia Moore Parker for 56 years. Mr. Parker was a member of Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield. He sang with his beautiful tenor voice to the Glory of God for many years in the church choir and also a local quartet. Mr. Parker worked in retail sales for most of his life and retired from Belk as a Sales Associate.

    Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Sylvia Moore Parker of Four Oaks, a son, David Parker, Jr. and wife Cathy, of Smithfield, three granddaughters, Shannon Parker Olive and husband Edward, of Newton Grove, Natalie Parker and Grace Parker both of Smithfield; one great-grandson, Elliot Olive of Newton Grove; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane Parker of Four Oaks and Sue Moore Johnson and husband, Gerald of Emerald Isle and Larry Moore of Four Oaks; several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends on Monday evening, November 20th, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC.
