Delma Gainey Holloman, age 83, died Friday afternoon in UNC Johnston Health of Smithfield. Born December 24, 1936 in Sampson County to the late James and Molly Westbrook Gainey, she was preceded in death by her sons, Ray “Tony” Vaughn and Tommy Holloman. Mrs. Holloman retired from Sylvania in Smithfield and was a member of Parrish Memorial Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am just prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Holloman Family Cemetery
Surviving are her husband, Russell E. Holloman; children, Shelia Creech and husband Rick of Princeton, Keith Vaughn and wife Lisa of Pine Level, Phyllis Hudson and husband Warren of Selma, Russell Edward Holloman, Jr. and wife Frances of Selma and Christopher Holloman of Lillington; brother, J. L. Gainey (Maewood) of Clinton; sisters, Glenda Vann of Clinton and Diane Edwards of Durham; 8 grandchildren, Karen Wessberg (Erik), Dusty Ferrell (Tony), Kim Hardwick (Billy), Brandon Vaughn, Ashley Gibbons, Brian Vaughn, DeWayne Holloman and Nicole Holloman and 10 great grandchildren, Kasey, Madison, Lexie, Maggie, Tyler, Ethan, Patrick, Savannah, D.J., and Kristen.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Parrish Memorial Baptist Church, 606 Parrish Memorial Road, Selma, NC 27576.
