SELMA – Dennis Gerald Jones, age 69, died Monday afternoon in the Classic Care of Smithfield. Born December 16, 1950 in Durham County to Garland Ethro Jones of Selma and the late Lois Boykin Jones, he was preceded in death by his brother Donald Christopher Kassay. Gerald worked in law enforcement for many years in and around Johnston County. He most recently worked as a truck driver with the S. T. Wooten Company. He especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time out of doors. Gerald served in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a Medical Corpsman.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Selma Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ricky Anderson officiating.
Surviving, in addition to his father, are his son, Brian Wesley Jones of Las Vegas, NV and brother, Anthony Jones of Selma.
