Pine Level – Dorothy Eleanor Stone Slusser, age 99, died Monday, January 22, 2018 in Smithfield Manor Nursing Home. Born December 30, 1918 in Tallmadge, Ohio to the late Rueben Hart and Marie Wertenberger Stone, she was the widow of Glenn Dwight Slusser. Dorothy was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Caillet; brothers, Russell Stone and Robert Stone and a sister, Florence Atha. Since moving to Pine Level, she has attended the Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018 in the Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Scott officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Surviving are her daughter, Beth Seals of Pine Level; son, James Palich and wife Shirley of San Diego, CA; step-daughter, Sally Bryan and husband Jim of Ohio; step-sons, Dale Slusser and wife Marilyn of Ohio and Ted Slusser and wife Paula of Ohio; sister, Mabel Franks of New Mexico; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the either, the Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church, P. O. Box 337, Pine Level, NC 27568 or the Autumn Home Care, 474 Jerry Road, Selma, NC 27576.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Autumn Home Care and Smithfield Manor for the wonderful care they provided Dorothy.
