    Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Edna Adams Phipps, age 82, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at her residence. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church, Benson, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Revs. Scott Johnson and Joe Brown will officiate.
    Mrs. Phipps was born September 30, 1938 in Johnston County to the late George Cleo and Eva Everette Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherrill Franklin Phipps, Sr., sisters, Edith Moore, Wanda Boyette and Carolyn Williams, brother, Johnny Adams; and brothers-in-law, Tom Boyette, George Massengill, Sr., and Thomas Moore.

    Mrs. Phipps retired from First Federal Bank as vice president of the mortgage and loan division. She was also the co-owner of Sherrill Phipps Trucking, INC. She was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church where she served in many capacities. The Edna Phipps Society was named in her honor, where she mentored the young ladies of the church.

    Surviving include her son, Sherrill Franklin “Frankie” Phipps, Jr., and wife, Teresa; grandchildren, Tiffany Phipps-Adams and husband, Blake, and Sherrill Franklin “Frank” Phipps, III; great-grandchildren, Blake Gary Adams, Jr., Hamilton Adams, Mariannah Adams, John William Adams and Eva Mae Adams; sisters, Brenda Beasley and husband, Morris, and Diane Massengill; brother, Harold Adams; brother-in-law, James “Poodle” Williams; sisters-in-law, Ginger Adams and Emma Lee Allen and husband, Eustace; many loving nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Laura Faye Barefoot and Cindy Lee.
    Mrs. Phipps’ register book will be available for you to sign on Friday, January 6, 2021 from 9:00AM-5:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.

    In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Masks are required for all services.
