Middlesex – Elaine Jackson Hughes, age 71, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Smithfield Manor in Smithfield. Born May 15, 1946 in Columbia County, PA she was a daughter of the late Frank Jacob Jackson and Laura Yost Pydyszewski. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Hagen. Elaine was a devoted wife and loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and playing bingo any chance she got.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are her husband, Don Hughes of Johnston County; children, Lori Robinson of Johnston County, Katharine Robinson Haws of Atlantic County, NJ, and Howard Robinson and wife Renee of Johnston County; and grandchildren, Matthew, Chloe, Lauren, Cole, Tommy, and Rebecca.
