Our hearts were saddened early Wednesday morning February 27th 2019 by the passing of
our loved one Ella Mae Blackmon Walker, who departed this life at Woodlands Nursing Home
in Fayetteville, NC
Ella the eldest of 4 siblings was born January 30th 1931 in Smithfield, NC to the late Georgia-

Savior. Ella received her education through Johnston County Training School and graduated in

North Carolina in 2016.
Ella married the love of her life Melvin Walker Jr April 1969 and dedicated her life as a military
wife. Ella joined First AME Zion church in Knoxville, TN where she served as a faithful member
on the missionary board, stewardess board, parent body missionary society, President Pastors
Aide, President Kitchen committee, President of Calendar Club, Sunday School Member and

Ella was an excellent cook and would cook any and everything, you name it she could make it.
She enjoyed feeding family and friends and loved to host catered parties to show off her

Ella never had any biological children but help raise her siblings, and through her working
years with various families she was able to help raise many others. Ella was a proud bonus
