    Kenly- Elsie Glover Briley, age 86, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020. Born on August 23, 1933 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late James Wilson and Lillian Roberts Glover. Mrs. Elsie was a minister in the Church of God for many decades serving in many support roles during camp meetings, summer camps, and fundraising by selling homemade biscuits. She was an avid collector of antiques.

    She is preceded in death by her first husband, James Otha Johnson and her last husband, James Harvey Briley; sisters, Irene Johnson, Ethel Bailey, Mary Elva Mills, and Shirley Cockrell; brothers, James Ray Glover and Earl Glover.

    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Parrish Funeral Home with a burial to follow in Kenly Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon just prior to the service at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Elsie is survived by her daughter, Brenda Johnson Stewart and husband Frankie of Godwin; sister, Pauline Whitley of Selma; grandchildren, Susarina Stewart-Harris and husband Frank of Eastover, Kimberly Stewart of Durham, and Regina Stewart Graham and husband Kennon of Red Oak, TX; and great grandchildren, Reginald and Nathan Graham of Red Oak, TX.
