Mrs. Emma Lou Holmes Hudson, age 80, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at her residence. Graveside Funeral Services will be 3:00PM-Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Benson, NC. Rev. Glenn McCullen, Rev. C.H. Lee and Dr. Don Sauls will officiate.
Mrs. Hudson was born on July 30, 1940 in Wake County, NC to the late Joseph Dalton and Iva Belle Capps Holmes. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy D. Holmes and J. Sherrill Holmes. Mrs. Hudson worked with CP&L, Hudson Tire, and PNC Bank. However, being home with her family was what she loved the most. She was a member of Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Benson, NC.
Surviving include her husband of 62 years, Carroll Davis Hudson; son, Roger C. Hudson and wife, Nancy of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Hudson and spouse, Logan; Taylor H. Davis and spouse, Drew; great-grandchildren, Shepard Davis, Greylen Davis, Cori Hudson and Liam Hudson; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service on Thursday at the cemetery.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be sent to Compassion International, www.compassion.com, or to Samaritan’s Purse, www.samaritianspurse.org.
In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Masks are required for all services.
