Princeton – Ernest “Dan” McCloud, age 84, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020, at the S.E.C.U. Hospice house in Smithfield. He was born on October 10, 1935, to the late Daniel and Alma West McCloud in Bonifay, FL. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Mrs. Betty Rains McCloud, his twin brother, Thomas D. McCloud and brothers, David F. McCloud, Joseph T. McHarry, and his great grandson Jordan Price. Mr. Dan was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Airforce. During his life he enjoyed gardening, Bible study, cooking, watching cooking shows, and spending time with his family on the Bay River.
A private, family only, graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughters, Patty Harrison and husband Kenny of Princeton, Jeanne Hill and husband Mike of Princeton; brother, Thomas W. McCloud; sister, Virginia McCloud Olson of Dothan, AL grandchildren, Andrew Price, Leigh Ann Williford, Amber and Zachary Hill; great grandchildren, Garret and Aubrey Williford, Mason and Landon Price. Also a special thank you to the members of Hephzibah Baptist Church and the S.E.C.U. Hospice house and all their support during his battle with cancer.
