Princeton – Freddy Gene Pearce, age 79, died early Wednesday morning, February 7, 2018 at his home. Born December 15, 1938 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Jarvis Vester and Mattie Lucille Evens Pearce. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Pearce; brother, Ashworth Pearce; and sisters, Peggy Jones and Sybil Snipes. Freddy was a member of Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church in Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas V. Pearce officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday just prior to the service.
Surviving are his son, Freddy Pearce, Jr. and wife Pamela of Clayton; brother, Bernie Pearce and wife Judy of Selma and Rev. Thomas V. Pearce and wife Lisa of Clayton; sister, Barbara McClenny of Chester, VA and Sylvia Thompson and husband J.A. of Smithfield; grandchildren, Melissa Pearce, Ashley Rice and husband Matthew, and Haley Pearce; great grandchildren, Paisley Rice and Aviah Rice; and canine companion, Rex.
