Apex, NC: Mrs. Glenda Carolyn Evans Jones, age 70 of 8020 Rhodes Road went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 6, 2017 at her residence. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Rev. Doug Abel will officiate.
Carolyn was born January 9, 1947 in Johnston County to the late Sampson Roosevelt and Lillian Ethel Lee Evans. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Samuel Lester Jones and siblings, Owen, Norma Jean, Elvin, Barbara, Kenneth and Sampson Roosevelt, Jr. Mrs. Jones retired from Dorothea Dix Hospital as secretary and was also a member of Stone’s Creek Advent Christian Church in Benson, NC.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 53 years , Robert Lester “R.L.” Jones; sons, Robert Glenn Jones and Donnie Wayne Jones and wife, Rhonda; siblings, Elgie Lee, Joyce Beasley, Faye Jernigan, Jimmy Evans and Tony Evans; grandchildren, Kimberly Jones Lee and husband, Bryan, Chad Jones, Samuel Jones and Hollie Jones; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday immediately following the memorial service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. NC.
