Selma – Gloria Hinnant Jones, age 81, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021, at home. She was born on October 12, 1939, to the late Needham and Lossie Hinnant in Johnston County. She is preceded in death by her first husband Mr. Frank “Nub” Edwards, sisters, Janice Faye Howell, and Joyce Mae Hales. Mrs. Gloria was a loving wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and she took great care of them. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, drawing and baking.
A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends following the service at 201 Carolyn Dr. Selma, 27576.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Frank Jones, daughters, Patricia Brown (husband Ricky) of Selma, Veronica Lee (husband Jim) of Newbern, Sheila Davis (husband James) of Selma, Wanda Long of Selma, Kathy Bissette (husband Phil) of Selma, son, Frank Edwards Jr. (wife Patricia) of Garner, stepdaughter, Joanne Evans of Kenly, stepson, Ronnie Jones (wife Patrice) of Selma, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
