Benson, NC: Mrs. Gwendolyn “Gwen” Stroud Dail, age, 81, of 1084 Byrdtown Road, died Thursday, March 12, 2020 at her residence. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Benson Grove Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens. Dr. Billy Cashwell will officiate.
Mrs. Dail was born on July 20, 1938 in Lenoir County to the late Abel Croom, Sr. and Cora Mae Mercer Stroud. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Dail, daughter, Donna Lebedynsky, sisters, Hilda Oliver and Maxine Edwards and brothers, Harold Stroud, Kenneth Stroud and Buster Stroud. Mrs. Dail retired as a Data Processor with First Citizens Bank in Raleigh and was a member of Benson Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving include her children, Joanie Pope and husband, Claude of Coats; Jean Hatton and husband, Dale of Raleigh; Kaye Hatch and husband, Kirk of Archer Lodge; and Michael Dail and wife, Teresa of Raleigh; son-in-law, Donald Lebedynsky of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, sister, Miriam Conner of Lexington; sister-in-law, Catherine Gelhar of Knightdale; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM-8:00PM, Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
