Helen Crabtree Reinhart, age 93, of Selma, died Monday, September 13, 2021 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born in Johnston County on April 9, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Myrtle Mason Crabtree of Selma, NC. She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Crabtree and three sisters, Barbara Curtis, Shirley O’Neal and Geraldine Salmieri.
Helen graduated from Selma High school in 1947. From there she went to Nursing School and attended Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC. She was a Registered Nurse and Teacher. In 1954 she married Robert Reinhart of NJ. They had three children who are Jim Reinhart and William Reinhart both of Selma, Joan Reinhart of New Jersey, two grandsons, Tommy and Danny Hopkins both of New Jersey, and two great granddaughters, Emma Hopkins and Taylor Hopkins both of New Jersey. Extended family Deena Long and Isabella Long; sister, Betty Jean Fleming of Selma and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Edgerton Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cole Briet and the Rev. Clay Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. just prior to the service and following the service in the church fellowship hall. A private committal will take place at a later date in the Thanksgiving Church Cemetery.
