Smithfield – Helen Thompson Edgerton, age 76, passed away May 8, 2019 at her home in Smithfield. Born May 25, 1942 in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Bessie Parrish Thompson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edgerton is also preceded in death by her husband Tony “Bud” Edgerton. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday May 11, 2019 at 2 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating, with burial to follow at Bizzell Grove Cemetery in Princeton. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Edgerton is survived by a son, Johnny Edgerton and wife Jen of Smithfield; Daughters, Susan Stephenson and husband Tony of Smithfield, Marie Phillips and husband David of Smithfield; A Brother, JA Thompson of Smithfield; Grandchildren, DJ Phillips, Heather Hill, Scott and Kimberley Stephenson, Thomas John Edgerton; Four great grandchildren; Mrs. Edgerton retired from the department of revenue and was a member of Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church in Princeton.
