Coats, NC: Helen Beasley Utley, age 90, of 189 Brick Mill Road, Coats, NC, died peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Universal Health Care in Lillington, NC. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at the Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats. Officiating will be Rev. Jerome Pope. Burial will follow in the Shallow Well Church Cemetery, Sanford, NC at 3:30PM.
Mrs. Utley was born in Harnett County February 2, 1927 to the late Willie and Lois Parker Beasley. Mrs. Utley was preceded in death by her husband, Howard B. Utley, two daughters, Lois Elizabeth Caouette and Joyce Daphine Moore, two brothers, Gerald and Billy Beasley, two sisters, Opal Strickland and Laverne Sharpe, and a great-grandson, Kenneth Andrew (Drew) Watkins, III.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, William (Bill) & Julia Gregory of Coats, and Jimmy & Barbara Gregory of Swansboro; sister, Lorene Poole of Coats; and aunt, Audrey Parker Smith of Anderson Creek; eleven grandchildren, numerous great & great great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM prior to the service on Sunday at the Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats and other times at the home of William (Bill) Julia Gregory , 1115 Brickmill Road, Coats, NC 27521.
