Hilda Faye Evans Phillips, age 85, of Selma, passed away on October 9, 2019. Born in Johnston County on October 14, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Richard Ira and Effie Adams Evans. Mrs. Phillips was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Elmore Phillips, and four siblings, Carlyle Evans, Doug Evans, Myrtle Sasser and R. I. Evans. She was a member of Center Ridge Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Saturday, October 12, from 2 – 3 pm followed by a funeral service at 3 pm. Burial will follow in the Bailey Family Cemetery near the home.
Surviving are her son, Danny E. Phillips and wife Kim of Cedar Point; her daughter, Janet Stearns and husband David of Bailey; her brother, Russell Owen Evans of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Robert Stearns and wife Revka, Richard Stearns and wife Christy, Ashley Raymond and husband Dave; and ten great grandchildren.
