    Benson, NC: Mrs. Hilda McLamb Raynor, age 82, of Woodall Dairy Road, completed her earthly journey in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at UNC Johnston Health in Clayton, NC. Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM-Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Eastern Star Rites. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate.

    Mrs. Raynor was born on January 12, 1939 in Johnston County to the late Walter Franklin and Victoria Barbour McLamb. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Wesley Tadlock and Fred Thompson Raynor, brothers, Walter Ransom McLamb, Warren G. McLamb, Derry B. McLamb, J.E. McLamb, and Stacy Denning McLamb, and a sister, Edna Hickman. In the early years, in addition to farming with her first husband, she worked at the Benson Shirt Factory and also at Sylvania in Smithfield. Mrs. Raynor was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church and was also a long serving member of the Lou Parrish Chapter of The Eastern Star, and often referred to them as her other family. Hilda loved her family, and made her home a special place for her family to go for special gatherings. She and Fred will be missed by their families and their many friends.

    Surviving include her sisters, Gertrude M. King of Four Oaks; Emmy Lou Royal of Hendersonville; and Margie Garland of Raleigh; special niece, Teresa Beasley and husband, Jerry of Cary; special nephew, Ronnie Johnson and wife, Sue of Four Oaks; many other special nieces and nephews.

    We give special thanks to the caregiver, Hana Morgan, to their neighbors, James and Joyce Allen, members of the church, Billy and Reginia Ireland, The Lou Parrish Chapter of The Eastern Star, Benson Masonic Relief Lodge #431 for their prayers and devotion during Mr. & Mrs. Raynor’s sickness.

    The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:45PM-2:45PM, Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church.

    Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church PO Box 423, Benson, NC 27504.
