Benson, NC: Mr. James Braxton “Jimmy” Johnson, Jr. age, 66, of Elevation Road passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Benson, NC. Rev. Glenn McCullen will officiate. Burial will follow in Elevation United Methodist Church Cemetery outside Benson, NC.
Mr. Johnson was born on January 3, 1955 in Johnston County to the late James, Sr. and Rutha Blackmon Johnson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Johnson Cook. Mr. Johnson retired from Chicopee/PGI/Berry Plastics in Benson. In his time off, Jimmy loved to play golf and spend time with his family.
Surviving include his wife of 25 years, Michelle Benson Morgan-Johnson; daughter, Amber Johnson Creech and husband Scott; son, Chase Montana Morgan; grandson, Jackson Lewis Creech, brothers, Stacy Johnson and wife, Sharon, and Ronnie Johnson; brothers-in-law, Mike Cook and Mardy Benson and wife, Sherry; sister-in-law, Monette Lee and husband, Stebo; many loving nieces and nephews; special loving dog, Lexi.
The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM-Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. The visitation on Saturday Night will follow all COVID 19 restrictions allowing a maximum number of people in the visitation room. Mask are required for all services.
