James Cecil Henderson, Jr. (Jim) died on November 13, 2021 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He is survived by his two daughters, Sarah Lewis and husband Brant; and Jaime Beasley and husband George; and four grandchildren: Hannah Lewis, James Lewis, Charlie Lewis, and Kambell Beasley. Preceding him in death is his wife, Debbie Henderson. The son of the late James Cecil and Eloise Peedin Henderson, Jim is also survived by his sister, Jenny Henderson Ham.
A graduate of Atlantic Christian College and Army veteran, Jim spent 34 years with the Johnston County Child Support Enforcement. Jim was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder.
Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Jim’s unwavering love and support for his family was evident to all that knew him. Jim lived his life with honor and dignity in all that he did. We will remember his smile and his genuine love for others.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, November 17, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church in Smithfield. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the church with Rev. Troy Lesher-Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
