Coats, NC: Mr. Jarvis Tart, Sr., age 89, of Oak Valley Farm Road died Sunday at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday at Prospect Free Will Baptist Church in Coats Officiating will be Rev. Billy Keith. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mr. Tart was born June 19, 1928 in Johnston County to the late William “Bud” and Lillar Byrd Tart. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hanskin Tart; twelve brothers and sisters. Mr. Tart worked for Burlington Mills, Campbell University Maintenance Department and was a farmer. He was also a member of Prospect FWB Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Thurman and Sandra Tart, Jarvis, Jr. and Terri Tart, and Ricky Tart all of Coats; daughter and son-in-law, Janice T. and William Austin of Newton
The family will receive friends at Prospect Free Will Baptist Church from 10:00AM to 10:45AM Wednesday prior to the service and other times at the home of Jarvis, Jr. and Terri Tart, 118 Oak Valley Farm Rd, Coats, NC 27521.
