SMITHFIELD – Jean Hamilton Grice, age 77, died Monday evening, March 18, 2019 at her home. Born on May 1, 1941 in Smithfield to the late Carl Douglas “CD” and Margaret Lee Hamilton, she was preceded in death by her sons, Jerry R. “Randy” Grice, Jr. and Michael Grice and her sister Glenda Hamilton Stewart. She married Jerry R. Grice in Pine Level, NC on December 27, 1957 and together they raised 3 children. Jean loved people, books and traveling. “She was a special lady who loved life and always saw the good in people”.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Colbert officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 just prior to the service.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Jerry R. Grice, daughter, Cathy G. Baker and her husband Rex of Siler City, 5 grandchildren, Jason Grice, Brandi Johnson, Kelly Hamm, Ryan Baker and Dillon Grice and 3 great grandchildren, Michael Corns, Tylin Corns and Aubree Hamm.
