Jean Marlow Ricks Boykin, 80, passed away Saturday evening at Johnston Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born in Johnston County on December 3, 1937 to the late Robert Lee and Nellie Ricks Jones. She was retired from Johnson and Johnson manufacturing in Kenly. Jean was a member of Stancil’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. by the graveside at Kenly Cemetery with Rev. Fred Crank officiating.
Jean is survived by her husband of sixty three years, William Braxton Boykin; daughter, Shelia Thorne and husband Dennis of Selma; son, William Allen Boykin and wife Dawn of Selma; grandchildren, Brook Thorne Carter and husband Drew of Clayton and Trent Allen Boykin of Benson; and her great granddaughter, Jordan Carter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Tammy Jean Boykin.
