Micro – Jimmy D Montgomery Jr., age 82, passed away Monday March 1, 2021 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. He was born in Johnston County on April 10, 1938 to the late James and Callie Loma Rose Montgomery. In addition to his parents, Mr. Montgomery is also preceded in death by brothers, Early Lamb, Tom and Al Montgomery; sisters, Lorraine Lancaster, Retha Bailey;
A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Friday March 5, 2021 at 1 PM with Rev. Duane Casey officiating. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Thursday March 4, 2021 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Burial will follow the funeral service at Micro Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Montgomery is survived by wife of many years, Gloria Tumilty Montgomery of Micro; sons, James Montgomery and wife Kim of Micro, Craig Montgomery and wife Becky of Selma; daughter, Elizabeth Montgomery of Hampstead; sister-in-law, Shirley Montgomery; grandchildren, Alexander, Ciara, and Devon Montgomery.
Mr. Montgomery was a member at Micro FWB Church and enjoyed fishing, golf, studying history, genealogy, cleaning out paths, and family get togethers. Mr. Montgomery retired from Dupont after a number of years and then traveled the world through working with Chem Tech.
