Smithfield – Joseph Arnold “Joey” McCall, age 53, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Duke Raleigh Hospital. Born April 18, 1963 in Smithfield, NC, he was a son of the late James William McCall.
A handyman by trade, Joey loved a challenge and worked non-stop on something until he figured out how to fix it. He also enjoyed working on hot rods with his friends. Joey was a family man at heart. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and helping them in any way that he could. Joey also enjoyed cooking and was well known among family and friends for THE BEST barbeque sauce.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Stefanski officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, of 31 years, Pamela Johnson McCall; daughter, Kelsey Joe Dale McCall of the home, mother, Carolyn Thomas Sasser and husband Marshall of Selma; brothers, Jimmy McCall and wife Teresa of Kenly and Scott McCall and wife Tammy and their son, Dustin Scott McCall all of Smithfield; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Johnston County Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 1049, Smithfield, NC 27577.
