    Smithfield, NC – John Christopher Jordan, died July 26th, 2019 at the age of 48 after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer. “Chris” as most knew him was born in Wilson County on January 2nd, 1971. He was preceded in death by his daughter Caitlyn (infant), his brother Richard Whitfield Jordan (infant), his grandparents Robert and Marilyn Collison, Whitfield and Hazel Jordan and Cecil and Mildred Narron.
    Chris loved to fly and held his private pilot license. He had also been a Paramedic in Johnston and Wake Counties for 20yrs. He served 2 years in the US Air Force. Chris loved being with friends and family and was a devoted husband and PaPa.
    Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Johnny Mack and JoAnn Jordan of Ahoskie, his wife, Beth Jordan of the home, In-laws, Tibor and Anne Kovalovsky of Knoxville, step-children, Kenny Greier, Jennifer Greier and fiancé, Mike Midgett, grandchildren Cameron and Savannah Midgett all of Roanoke Rapids and sisters, Heather Jo and Candace Jordan of Ahoskie.
    A deeply heartfelt thank you to JoAnn Jordan “Mama Jo” who never left his side along with his wife Beth during the last few weeks of his life. Thanks to all of our family and friends for the outpouring of support and visits. Special thanks to DJ Jordan(Karen), Darrell Neuman (Rebecca), Richard “Ric” Braswell(Jennifer), Spanky McKoy(Debra), Bennie McKoy(Pam) and Kenny Raynor(Elaine) for all the loving care and sitting by his side up until the very end.
    A service, to celebrate Chris’ life, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating.
    The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
    In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in, Chris’ honor, be made to the American Cancer Society, Bertie County Relay for Life, c/o Bobbie Parker, P. O. Box 505, Aulander, NC 27805.
